The death of Sheridan Wayne (Parker) McLaggan of Fredericton, NB, husband of Bina (Saunders) (nee Spavold) McLaggan occurred at his home on Friday, January 7th, 2011. Born in McAdam. NB, son of the late Carl Samuel and Joyce Pauline (Burrell) McLaggan. Sheridan was employed with the Provincial Government for over 30 years until his retirement, having served in several departments including; Photo Services, Natural Resources and Supply and Services. He served in the RCAF from 1962 until 1965 and enjoyed hunting, fishing and constructing things for his family. He is survived by his wife Bina, three sons, Roy McLaggan (Rose) of Fredericton, Carl McLaggan of Fredericton, Corey McLaggan (Trudy) of Fredericton; one daughter April Hawkins (Christopher) of Fredericton; nine grandchildren, Katelyn MacDonald, Carly Hawkins, Kyle McLaggan, Amanda McQuade, Taylor Hawkins, Alicia McLaggan, Katie Johnson-McLaggan and Michael Hawkins and Alex Hawkins; two brothers, Barry McLaggan (Marion) of New Maryland and Richard McLaggan of St. Martins, NB; one sister, Jennifer Humes (Robert) of Jacksonville Beach, Florida; one step-son, Kerry Saunders (Barbara) of Fredericton and one step-daughter, Esther Saunders (Thierry) of Toronto, ON; three step-grandchildren, Mark, Shawn and Eric Lowther. Sheridan was predeceased by his first wife Nancy (Nickerson) McLaggan.
There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will take place at the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 2:00 PM with Rev. H.G. MacKenzie officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in the Rockland Cemetery, McAdam, NB. For those who wish, and in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes made to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation, The New Brunswick Lung Association, the Liver Foundation or the charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.www.mcadamsfh.com
