It is with heavy hearts that the family of George MacLellan, 40, a former resident of North Sydney, announce his passing on Sunday June 28, 2009, in Toronto.
Born in North Sydney, he was the son of Theresa (Richards)(MacLellan) Jesty, North Sydney, and the late Angus MacLellan.
George was a former member of St. Joseph Church, North Sydney. He graduated from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax and taught English in Korea for four years, returning to Canada and lived in Toronto for the past 10 years.
He is survived by his mother, Theresa and stepfather, Roddie Jesty; three brothers, Wayne (Tina), Halifax, Angus, Dartmouth, and Chris (Kathy), Halifax; sister-in-law, Marion MacLellan; nieces and nephews, Charlotte, Eric, Nicole, Cory, Carmelita, Kurstyn, Mark and Tara.
George was predeceased by his father, Angus.
Visitation for George will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Church, North Sydney, with Rev. Jim Attwood officiating. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney.
