NEW GLASGOW - Walsh, Michael "Boogie" Joseph, 58 of New Glasgow passed away January 7, 2011, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late John and Jean(Avery)Walsh.
Mike attended St. John's Academy and graduated from New Glasgow High School. He was a welder at Hawker Siddley for 30 years, as well as a long-time member of the New Glasgow Elk's Lodge.
In his younger years, Mike was an avid amateur photographer, enjoyed skiing, skating, swimming, and most of all, Mike loved to spend his summers on the beach at the Merb.
Mike was proud to call the North End his home and cherished his life-long friendships with his North End buddies. Mike had a heart of gold and was a loving father, brother and friend.
He will be forever loved and always in our hearts. Mike was a person of a strong, determined inner strength and a man of deep faith who loved his home parish, St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church.
Mike would wish to say good-bye to his family and friends, but looking forward to joining Mom and Dad, "Crow Man" and the "Midget".
He is survived by his daughter, Tania, a grandson, Zander, son, Josh, grandchildren, Kristin Skylar, Connar Joseph and Joshua Logan, Tania and Josh's mother and Michael's bestfriend, Bea Chisholm, sisters: Beck(John)Grant, Theresa(Wayne)Wadden, Patsy(Dave)Turnbull and Cathy(Bob)Ferguson, brothers: Jackie(Beth), Robert(Anne), Francis(Martha), Stephen, and Philip(Angela), also aunts, Gert Hudry and Mary Corbett and uncle Francis Walsh. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cremation to take place. The family will receive visitors from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday from St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow with Father Bill Rankin presiding.
