Maynard Roy LeBlanc

Lieu de décès : Yarmouth, Nouvelle Ecosse, Canada

LeBLANC, Maynard Roy - It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Maynard LeBlanc, 75, of Arcadia, Yarmouth Co. while in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. He was a son of the late David Melvin LeBlanc and Lena Maude (Gray) LeBlanc. Maynard worked at Dominion Textiles for 38 years until its closure in 1990. He also worked as a bus driver for 36 years for the Tri-County Regional School Board, having retired from there in 2000. After his retirement he continued working, delivering ambulances and vehicles for various businesses up until his illness. Maynard had a work ethic that was second to none. He enjoyed spending time with his family and had a very witty and dry sense of humour, especially in the last few years. He loved going to yard sales, taking trips to his camp, and spending a lot of time at his wood lot, which he jokingly referred to as his "financial holdings". Maynard was an avid outdoorsman and loved hockey and baseball and could tell you many stats and figures from the past. He also loved spending time with his cats, especially his favourite, Frisbee, who would ride on his 4-wheeler with him. He is survived by his wife, Maude (Spates) LeBlanc; daughter, Shelley (Steve Jacquard) LeBlanc, Comeau's Hill; son, David LeBlanc (Jennifer Sweeney), at home; step-children, Mary LeBlanc, Yarmouth; Gail (Paul) Crowell, Darlings Lake; Debbie (Steve) Murphy, Hantsport; sister, Arleen (John) Driscoll, Waverly; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by parents, David and Lena (Gray) LeBlanc; sister, Bernice Lively; brother, Graydon LeBlanc; step-son, George (Sam) LeBlanc. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny's Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Yarmouth. Visitation took place on Saturday, January 8 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service was held Sunday, January 9 at 2:00 p.m., Pastor A.J. Plazier officiated. Both were held in Sweeny's Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in Arcadia Cemetery. Family flowers only, please. Donations in memory can be made to the Yarmouth SPCA or to a charity of choice.
