Dorothy Agnes Green
It is with great sadness that the family of Agnes (nee Miller) Green announces her death at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Thursday, January 6th, 2011 at the age of 86. Born in Andover, NB on July 18th, 1924 she was the wife of the late Roy E. Green and daughter of the late William James and Nellie Ethel (MacKellar) Miller. Agnes is survived by her son, Douglas (Hanka) of Bellville, ON; one daughter, Kathryn Green-Painchaud (André) of Lorraine, PQ; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one brother, Roland Miller of Perth-Andover, NB; two sisters, Kaye Bradford of Hamilton, ON and Mary Tucker of Devon, AB; one brother-in-law, Charles Green of Florenceville and two sisters-in-law, Donna Knijff of St. Andrew's and Maxine Miller of Perth-Andover, NB, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Roy; her parents and several brothers and sisters. Agnes enjoyed reading, playing bridge, bingo and was an expert at solving crypto quotes. She looked forward to her daily conversations with her daughter, sisters and many friends. She looked forward to any and all news of her birthplace, Andover, NB. The family wish to extend a special thank you to all those who remained in contact with Agnes throughout the last few years.
There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held at J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Thursday, January 13th, 2011 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dr. Peter Short officiating. Interment will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery in the spring. For those who wish, and in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family. www.mcadamsfh.com, 458-9170.
