1926 - 2011

Robert (Bob) Jaques of Kamloops passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at the age of 84.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Barb Jaques; his children: Ian (Tracey) Jaques of Kamloops; Kenna (Stan) Jaques of Calgary, and Jennifer Jaques of Ontario; grandchildren: Shannon (Dwight) Jaques, Jason (Kelsie) Jaques and Ryan Sawyer; great grandchildren: Preslee, Rya and Blair; brother Derek (Barbara) Jaques of Australia; sister Doreen (Bob) of Hunter, Ontario and their respective families.

He was predeceased by his son, Keith.

Bob was born in Lancashire, England and he and his new bride emigrated to Canada in 1948. After obtaining his degree in industrial accounting, he spent his working years in Ontario, where he was also an active member of the then called 'Retarded Children's Association', rising to the position of Canadian President of the organization. Upon his retirement in 1989, he and Barb moved to British Columbia to be with their growing family, residing first in Abbotsford, then Campbell River, finally moving to Kamloops in 2002.

There will be no formal service at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's memory may be made to The Royal Inland Hospital Foundation, 311 Columbia St., Kamloops, B.C., V2C 2T1 or to the B.C. Lung Association.
