John Passed away suddenly on January 8th, 2011 at home with his wife Ingried by his side
John will be forever loved and remembered by his wife of 32 years, Ingried, his sons David and Brian, brothers Michael (Debbie) and Patrick, sister Mary (Mike), father-in-law Dieter, mother-in-law Ilse, brother-in-law Juergen, nieces Ashley-Danae, Katie, Olivia, Alexis, and Kyleen, and nephews Colin and Martin, and many other close family and friends.
John was predeceased by his father Jim Hamilton (James) in 2005 and his mother Lorna Mae Hamilton in 1998.
John was born and spent the early years of his life in Mission, British Columbia. John pursued his passion of music at an early age, becoming a Radio DJ at CFER in Abbotsford, and was recruited by a number of radio stations in the lower mainland, but decided to follow his dream of becoming an RCMP officer. In 1974 John achieved his goal, and graduated from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police training camp with Troupe 26. John spent the early years of his RCMP career at various posts around B.C, and in 1977 he was stationed in Alexis Creek, where he met and married the love of his life, Ingried. John retired from the RCMP in 2000, after 25 years of service, and moved to Kamloops to take on a position with Work Safe BC.
John surrounded himself with family and friends that loved him dearly. He had a passion for hockey and coached his sons' teams, and later moved into a league director's role. John was an avid fisherman and golfer and enjoyed nothing more than working on his swing with his friends.
A Celebration of John's Life will be held on January 15th, 2011 at 2:00 p.m at Thompson Rivers University, 900 McGill Rd, in the Grand Hall of the Campus Activity Center.

You will be missed.
