Suddenly at the Western Hospital Alberton, on Wednesday Jan. 12, 2011,with his family by his side of Carrol Joseph Powers of Alberton, P.E.I age 72 years. Born on April 12, 1938 he was the son of the late Everett and Irene (nee Haywood) Powers. Companion and special friend to Patsy Gallant and her daughter Katie of Tignish. Cherished brother to James of Alberton; Faye (Late Steve) McNeill of Alberton; Noreen (Late Lester) Gavin of Tignish; Jarvis of Alberton; Theresa (Merrill) Arsenault of Alberton; Mary (Late Vance) McNeill of Alberton. Also survived and cherished by his many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his special grand nephew Ryan Deziel and his son Jonas. Carrol was predeceased by his parents, his brother David and by his two nieces, Marla McNeill and Barbara Ann Deziel. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home Alberton. Visiting hours Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. A memorial mass to be celebrated on Monday morning Jan. 17, from the Sacred Heart Church Alberton at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Michel Painchaud celebrant. Interment later the church cemetery. As an expression of sympathy memorials to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice would be gratefully appreciated.
