Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on Wednesday, July 1, 2009, in the presence of her devoted nephews and nieces, Lena Cahill of Bell Island, retired school teacher and Vice Principal of the former St. Augustine’s School on Bell Island. Predeceased by husband Gerald in 1985. Leaving to mourn nephew Larry Dunn (Sandra), nieces Cathy, Dolores and Sharon Dunn (Colin Flynn); sisters-in-law Daisy Cahill and Mary Coffey; many other nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends, as well the member of her church community of St. Cyprian’s Anglican Church, of which she was a devoted parishioner and for which she worked tirelessly. At Lena’s request, cremation has taken place. Visitation at Pendergast’s Funeral Home, Bell Island on Friday, July 3, 2009 from 2-9 p.m. Funeral service to be held from Jackson United Church, Saturday, July 4, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with inurnment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Bell Island.
