THORNTON, Edith Mae - of Woodstock passed away at Upper River Valley Hospital in Waterville on Thursday, January 13, 2011, at the age of 81. Born at Bloomfield, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred Olan and Eva Mae (MacLeary) Crandlemire. Edith is survived by four sons, John Thornton (Terri Ann) of Bloomfield, James Thornton (Gail) of Saint John, Jeff Thornton of Cape Breton, and Jerry Thornton (Kerri) of Woodstock; three daughters, Joan Rees of Debec, Joyce Thornton of Woodstock, and Janet Wheelan (Irvine) of Woodstock; 17 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was also pre-deceased by her husband Wetmore Thornton, her sister Iva Dow and son inlaw Danny Rees. Resting at the Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, NB , with visiting on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Monday at 2 pm from Scott Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Greg Williams will be officiating, with interment in the Bloomfield United Church Cemetery.
