MacPherson, Gerald Walter, 76, of Petitcodiac, passed away at the Moncton Hospital on January 12, 2011. Born in Elgin, Gerald was the son of the late Walter and Willena (Stewart) MacPherson. He was a member of the Steven Lodge F&AM #37, and a friend of Bill. Gerald worked for many years for MacPherson Builders and Department of Transportation. He is survived by his daughters: Dayna Lymburner (Greg), Darlene Arbeau (Barry); his sons: Donald and Douglas (Jolene); his sisters Elsie Steeves, Marilyn Chambers, Charlene Carty (Walter), Ellise Bourque (Mike) and brother-in-law James Garland of Dartmouth. Besides his parents he is predeceased by a son David, an infant grandson David, and a sister Elaine Garland. He is survived as well by Hilda MacPherson, mother of his children; and special friend Lorraine MacPherson. There are grandchildren who will miss Grampie Mac desperately. They are Alicen & Devin, Luke and Leigh, Jesse & Jenna, Jodi & Tony, Michelle & Jeff, David, Chelsey, CJ & Allie, Nick, Konnor and Madison. Special 'grandchildren', George and Tamara, will miss him too. The great grandchildren, Alexis, Hudson and Delia, will have photos and stories to tell about their "Be Boppy". Will also be missed by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 15, from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 16, at 2 pm at the Elgin Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Allen and Pastor David Hawkesworth officiating. Interment will be held in the spring.
