MURPHY, Kenneth M - Passed away in Yarmouth Regional Hospital on January 6th, 2011 after a short battle with cancer. Born in Yarmouth, Kenney was the son of Agnes Murphy and the late Michael J. Murphy. Surviving are his children, Heather, Kenny Jr. and Steven; sisters, Barbara (Jim), Sandra (Brian), Sharon (Steven); brothers, Jack (Elaine), Rick (Shelley); grandchildren, Jordan and Sarah; and many nieces, nephews, and very close cousins. He was predeceased by Brother Warren Murphy. He was an "Icon" and a legend in his own time, and his favourite saying was "I did it my way". He will surely be missed. Thank you to Dr. Paul Legere, and the other physicians and Nurses on 4 south for all their kindness. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny's Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Yarmouth. Visitation was at Sweeny's Funeral Home on Sunday, January 9th 2011 from 5-9 p.m. Memorial Service was held at the Yarmouth Wesleyan Church, 70 Haley Road, Yarmouth, at 11 am on Monday, January 10th 2011 with Rev A.D "Bill" Newell officiating. Burial was in the Plymouth Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Yarmouth Food Bank, or charity of choice.
