Anne Brennick
We, the family of the late Anne Brennick, wish to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to all our relatives, friends and neighbours for the love and support shown to us during our recent bereavement. We are most grateful for the food sent to our home, the phone calls, the flowers, the Mass cards and sympathy cards and the memorial and charitable donations. Thank you to St. Joseph Parish priest, Fr. Peter McLeod, for his visits and blessings/prayers during Momma's stay in Palliative Care in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, and for celebrating the funeral liturgy which was a reflection of how momma lived her life: faith-filled and joyful. Thank you as well to Fr. Sandy MacNeil, Fr. Vern Boutilier, and Fr. Jake Andrea for partaking in the funeral liturgy. Appreciation is also extended to Fr. Conrad Edwards for leading us in evening prayer and to the St. Joseph bereavement team for guiding us in prayer. To the musicians - Agnes Gaskell and the Bras d'Or/Alder Point choir for the beautiful choir selections and singing throughout mass, Allie Bennett for his violin selection, and Sister Sandra White, the Sisters of St. Martha and the Associates for the marvelous gathering and recessional hymns - we say thank you for your melodious voices and instrumental accompaniments. Thank you to Sr. Debbie Pike for preparing a creative picture collage of Momma. To the honorary pallbearers, we extend deep gratitude for your years of kindness and support to Momma. The active pallbearers, momma's 3 sons-in-law and 3 grandsons, and the readers, Momma's daughter and 3 granddaughters, were certainly honoured to be part of momma's funeral mass. Thank you to the 3 servers who participated in the funeral liturgy; you were important people in Momma's life. We extend our thanks and appreciation to the Palliative Care medical team at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital whose kindness, compassion and professionalism were first-class. To the Bras d'Or CWL, we express our deep gratitude and appreciation for your ongoing volunteerism, particularly for the wonderful reception you catered; Momma always spoke highly of your dedication to the community. Thank you to the staff of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home for your guidance, compassion, care and professionalism during the wake and funeral. To Momma's sisters, Sr. Yvonne Vigneault, Lorraine Fraser and Adelaide MacNeil, your love, support and acts of kindness during Momma's life were tremendous; in Momma's final days, your prayers, storytelling, singing and love were likewise a source of support for us, her 6 grieving adult children. Special thanks also to daddy's sisters, Helen Devison and Ad MacDonald, and their families, for the food, the vehicle, the kitchen help, the suit jacket, the praying, the joyous reminiscing, storytelling and love. Thank you as well to daddy's nephews and nieces (the children of his late brother Bernie) and Daniel Fraser, Momma's nephew, and his wife, for their love and support. To Linda, Heather and Simone (the daughters of the late Florence Cantwell), thank you for your nuggets of guidance and support during the past week; your assistance was certainly appreciated. To Isabel McNeil, who was Momma's lifelong friend, we say thank you for your years of fun, chauffeuring, love and support. To Pat and Urban Day, we say thank you for your years of driving Momma and Mary Frances to and from church, your kindness and support, and for the ongoing supply of fabulous homemade bread. To Aunt Ad and Uncle Jerome MacDonald, we say thank you for all your support and love; you are goodness and love personified, and to your adult children, who follow your example of kindness and love, we say thank you for visiting and chauffeuring Momma. We extend a heartfelt thank you to our only sister-in-law, Flora, John's wife, who has been Momma's chauffeur, house decorator, house cleaner, caterer, appointment maker and friend. Momma loved Flora like a sixth daughter. Words cannot express how thankful we are to each and every person who touched our lives during this time. Your kindness, support and love eased our burden. We are forever grateful to you.
