Major Stephen Ralph Moore (ret'd.) - 76, of Gladys Manning Retirement Community, Windsor, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2011, in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Ralph was born on June 19, 1934, in Syracuse, New York, USA, and was the son of the late Frank and Editha (Brandon) Moore. Ralph is survived by his wife of 58 years, the former Jessie R. Bond; daughters, Jeanne (Peter) Manoussos, Carleton Place, Ontario; Beth Moore, Kingston, Ontario; Maureen Moore, Almonte, Ontario; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Moore, Belleville, Ontario; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Giles Moore, Magog, Quebec; sisters, Sandra (Allyn) Rollins, Magog, Quebec; Ann (Jim) Stafford, Ayers Cliff, Quebec; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Frank and Editha (Brandon) Moore; Ralph was predeceased by his only son, Stephen Moore; brothers, Phillip Moore and Allan Moore. Visitation was 7-9 p.m. Sunday, January 9, 2011, in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor. Funeral service was 2 p.m. Monday, January 10, 2011, in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Jeffrey White officiated. Interment was in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor, followed by a reception in the Lindsay Family Reception Centre. Donations in memory of Ralph, were requested to be made to the S.P.C.A. (Hants County Branch) or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
