Anne Patrick
The sudden passing of Anne McMillan Patrick (Adshade), 80, of Amherst occurred on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at the Moncton City Hospital, Moncton, NB.
Born on June 9, 1930 in New Stevenson, Scotland, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Boyd) Patrick.
In 1951, Anne and her sister, Agnes immigrated to Vancouver Island and in 1952 she made her home in Amherst and remained there until her passing. Anne worked for Amherst Daily News, Sobey's and Reid's Bookstore in Amherst. She enjoyed being a member of the 105 Cumberland Wing, Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 10 as well as the Lady Tweedsmuir Club. Anne found great pleasure in knitting, darts and playing cards.
She is survived by her loving husband, Charlie; sons, Wayne and Alan (Sheryl) Adshade both of Amherst; their father, Ken Adshade; grandchildren, Kaitlin, Megan, Adam and Mitchell.
She was predeceased by her son, Keith Adshade, father of Adam and Mitchell; as well as her second husband, Barry Lind and sister, Agnes Stake.
Cremation has taken place.
A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with funeral service on Friday at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Byron Corkum officiating which will all be held at Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906). Reception to follow at the Air Force Association of Canada, (105 Cumberland Wing), 37 Havelock St.
Interment will take place in the spring in the Amherst Cemetery.
Donations in Anne's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Salvation Army or charity of your choice.
