1922 - 2011

Margaret Jane Jacobson, nee Cartwright, of Kamloops, B.C. passed away peacefully on January 17, 2011, at the age of 88.

Margaret will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, and will be greatly missed.

Margaret was predeceased by her seven siblings, her Mother and Father, Jenness and Wesley Cartwright of Homes Crossing, AB, and also by her husband of 50 years Maurice Jacobson, of Roseburg, Oregon.

Margaret was born in Fort Assiniboine, AB, May 26, 1922. Margaret joined the Canadian Armed Forces during the Second World War. During that time she worked in the Canadian Embassy in Washington DC, and worked in the offices of Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson.

Margaret moved to Seattle, Washington in 1948 where she married, Maurice Jacobsen in 1949. Margaret and Maurice then moved to Everett, Washington and built their home where they lived for many happy years.

Margaret's worked at Boeing for 37 years, during that time the Boeing 747s and 737s were being built.

Margaret and Maurice retired to Roseburg, Oregon, when they were 69 and enjoyed their hobby farm until 1999, when Maurice passed away. Margaret re-joined her family in Canada where she spent the remainder of her days.

A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 22, 2011 in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel, 285 Fortune Drive, with Chaplain Mary Widmer officiating.
