On Sunday, January 16, 2011 Mr. Ottavio Carlucci passed away peacefully at the Royal Inland Hospital at the age of 82 years.

He is survived by his loving family, daughter Antoinette (Stan) of Kamloops and their daughters Michelle (Mat) and Lynnette (Chris); his son Tony (Gina) of Kamloops and their daughters Mara (Henry) and Amy (Tyler); and great grandchildren Kailyn, Madison, Alya and Zak. Also left to cherish his memory are his sisters Filomena (Don) Renzullo, Dora (Tony) Renzullo, Palma Toto as well as Ida (Alfredo) Pepe.

Ottavio is predeceased by his wife Rosina, brothers Allesandro and Giuseppe, his parents Antonio and Rosa Carlucci.

Ottavio was born March 10, 1928 in Santa Maria, Del Molise, Italy to Antonio and Rosa Carlucci. He immigrated to Canada in 1951 to start a better life for his family. He worked for the CPR and the City of Kamloops until retirement.

Ottavio was a proud independent man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He spent many hours in his vineyard and garden and caring for his pet cockatiel Peka.
After the passing of his beloved Rosina, he found joy in carrying on family traditions, including dinners with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as making sauce from his garden tomatoes, baking bread and serving his homemade wine.

Prayers will be recited on Friday, January 21, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. The Reverend Father Peter Nguyen will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial at the church on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Evergreen Mausoleum.
