Mr. Griggie; avid fisherman, lover of all things in nature, perpetual mentor, teacher and student. A man of a rare wisdom and a friend to all. Greg Phillips, of Colliers, passed peacefully away on Sunday, January 16th, 2011 surrounded by family and friends. Predeceased by his son Mikie, parents Patrick and Mary and brother Charlie (Rose). Left with cherished memories, his devoted wife Marilyn; his two loving daughters: Karen (Kurt) and Amanda (Keith); one sister Marguerite (Kevin); eight brothers: John (Alice), Ben, Paddy (Annie Mae), Cyril (Ann), Sam (Betty), Jim, Nick (Mena) and Rick (Linda); mother-in-law Mary Hawco; brothers-in-law: Gordon (Donna), Kenneth (Helen), Edmund (Cindy), Brian (Bev), Jack (Denise), Nick (Sandra), Bob (Trish); sisters-in-law: June Connors (Rick), Diane Howse (Paul); also a number of very special nephews and nieces and a large circle of family and friends. Resting at Conway's Funeral Home, Conception Harbour. Visitation on Tuesday and Wednesday 2 p.m.- 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Colliers, on Thursday, January 20th at 2 p.m. Cremation to follow. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada, Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation or a charity of one's choice.
