Metcalfe, Donne Faye (Reid) - 65, Springhill, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Amherst, surrounded by her family. Born in Springhill, she was the daughter of Georgina (Casey) Reid and the late Leslie Reid. Donna worked for over 40 years for many frozen food plants, spending 20 years at Oxford Frozen Foods until retiring in 2006. In her younger years, Donna was an avid fisherman, fishing the brooks for hours on end. Donna also enjoyed playing cards, watching hockey, computer games, reading her many novels and spending time with her family. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 46 years, Joe; sons, Pat (Susan), Springhill; Tim (Mary), Springhill; Joey (Terry), Truro; John (Nicole), Springhill; brother, Garth (Candy) Reid, Pugwash. She was predeceased by her father, Leslie; and brothers, Greg and Johnny. Cremation has taken place under the direction of MacDiarmid's Funeral Home, Oxford (447-2930). There will be no funeral service as per Donna's wishes. Burial to take place at a later date.
