The death occurred suddenly, with family by his side, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, on Tuesday, January 18, 2011, of Alvin Murphy, beloved husband of Nancy (nee Fitzsimmons), of Cornwall, age 55.
Alvin was the loving father of Shelly Curley (Peter), Joshua and Katie (Matt Morriscey); and an extra special Grampy to Dylan, Mackenzie and Maria. He is also survived by his mother, Bibianna Murphy; his brothers, Joe, Peter, Glen, Ernie and Danny; his sisters, Caroline, Mary Elaine, Joyce and Doris; his father and mother-in-law, Don and Claudette Fitzsimmons; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Frank Murphy; and his brother-in-law, Donald Fitzsimmons.
Resting at the Father Claire Macdonald Lounge of St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Cornwall, for visitation on Sunday, January 23, 2011, from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church on Monday, January 24, 2011 at 10 a.m.
