1959 - 2011 - Betty Lynn Woodard (nee Douthwright) of Riverview, passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at the Moncton Hospital after a courageous fight with cancer surrounded by her loving family. During her battle she continually displayed the grace, grit and humour that she showed throughout her life. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of William and Della Douthwright of Salisbury.
She had been employed by Ultramar, at various locations in the area and was most recently employed by Minacs. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, whether she was cooking for them, going for family drives or attending her children's sporting events, she was an ever present Mom. Besides her parents, Betty is survived by her husband, Sheldon, daughter, Krystal, of Riverview, NB, son, Nicklaus at home, sisters; Susan O'Brien (James) of Havelock, Peggy Roberts of Riverview, Jennifer Yarrow (John), of Moncton, Judy Strugnell (Scott) of Moncton, Rosemary MacLeod (Scott) of Riverview, brothers; William Jr. (Peggy) of Moncton, Tom (Cindy) of Salisbury, Peter (Beverly) of Toronto, David of Riverview, Grant (Tara) of Moncton, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as her extended family consisting of her brothers and sisters in-law, Gary, Dennis, Terry, Diane, Darlene and Tammy.
The family will be receiving friends and relatives at Cobb's Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview, (869-2007) on Monday, January 24, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will take place at Cobb's Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, on Tuesday, January 25, at 1:00 pm, with the Reverend Rick Thomas presiding. Interment to take place at Grey's Island Cemetery at a later date. Donations made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, The Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation or memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
