WORTHMAN, Herbert P.- August 3, 1924 - January 19, 2011. Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Wednesday, January 19, 2011, Herbert Worthman of Heart's Delight, aged 86 years. Predeceased by parents Chesley and Dalphine Worthman, sisters Priscella Chislett and Greta Spurrell, brothers William and Sidney, son-in-law Jim Green and daughter-in-law Phyllis. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories to celebrate his life with thanksgiving are: his loving wife and best friend of 63 years, Ellen (nee Taylor); eight children: four sons: David (Betty) Lew (Linda), Wayne (Wanda) and Jimmy (Kim), four daughters: Irene Green (Jim, deceased), Mary Upshall (Tom), Ivy Worthman and Evelyn Reid (Paul); eighteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. He is also lovingly remembered by sisters: Marie Blackwood (Charlie), C.B.S., Sadie Branton (Charlie, deceased), Nova Scotia and Janie Pynn (Baxter), St. Anthony; sisters-in-law: Edith Worthman and Jennie Worthman, as well as a number of nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends. Resting at the SUF Lodge in Heart's Delight on Thursday, January 20, 7 p.m. until time of funeral. The funeral service will be held from St. Matthew's Church, Heart's Delight at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at St. Matthew's Anglican Cemetery.
