CHAISSON, Henry Leo -78, of Palmerston St., Pictou, passed away January 21, 2011 in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Cape North, Cape Breton, he was a son of the late Dave Zephron & Catherine (Capstick) Chaisson. With great sadness we say good-bye to our Husband, Father, Grandfather and Father-in-law, Henry "Leo" Chaisson, "Big Leo", "Potato Man". He leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Veronica "Vonnie" (Prosper) Chaisson; sons, Frank (Sheila) Chaisson, Charlottetown, PEI; David (Elaine) Chaisson, Pictou; daughters, Marlene (Bernie) Currie, Lorraine Chaisson, both of Pictou; Judy (Allan) Hughes, MacLellans Brook; grandchildren, Curtis, Mark & Bethany Chaisson, Christopher & Holly Chaisson, Nathan (Monika) Currie, Daphne (Sean) Ryan & Colin Landry, Roni Chaisson, Jacqueline & Greg Hughes; great grandchildren, Jory, Kegan & Liam Currie, Angus & Marley Ryan; brother, Charlie (Mavis) Chaisson, Sugarloaf, Cape Breton; sister-in-law, Anne Chaisson, Lower Sackville. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers, John & Zephy Chaisson; sister-in-law, Theresa Chaisson, granddaughter, Mary Patricia; and two sisters in infancy. Dad touched the hearts of many far & wide. To his family of friends of "Bill W", where he was lovingly known as "Father", his numerous trucking friends, employees, and many crew members he worked with during his forty some years with Northumberland Ferries Ltd., who referred to him as "Big Boss". Our hearts are a little less full, without him in it. Visitation will be held 2-4, 7-9 PM Monday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral Mass will take place 11 AM Tuesday from Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, Pictou. Spring burial will be in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in his memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
