The death of Robert Watson Arnold, husband of the late Violet Ann (Rostek) Arnold of Marysville, NB occurred at the Veterans Health Unit on Saturday, January 22nd, 2011. Born in Marysville, NB, son of the late Harry and Marry Ann (Watson) Arnold. Bob served with the Royal Canadian Airforce during World War II. Following the the war he worked for over 50 years with the Department of Highways retiring in 1986 as Equipment Superintendent. He was a member of the Marysville United Church and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 15 for 68 years. Bob is survived by his sons, Brian (Margaret) of Fredericton, NB, and Kimberly (Monette) of Calgary, AB; one daughter, Marry Ellen Pittoello (Michael) of Amherst, NS; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Violet and parents he is predeceased by his son Blaine and two brothers Harry and Ronald.
There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will take place at the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, January 26th, 2011 at 2:00 PM. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #15 will hold a tribute service during the memorial service. Interment will take place at a later date in the Alexander Gibson Memorial Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial tributes made to the Blaine Arnold Memorial Kitchen at the Marysville United Church or the Alexander Gibson Memorial Cemetery would be appreciated by the family.
