Mrs. Maud Matthews of Long Creek passed on January 23, 2011 at the age of 95. She was the daughter of the late William and Ethel Sparkes and the wife of the late Murray Matthews. Maud is survived by her daughter, Doris Connell (Cedric) of Codys, her son John Matthews (Jennie) of Petitcodiac, her brother Jack Sparkes of BC, two grandchildren, five great grandchildren: three great great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Maud is predeceased by two sisters: Cora Evans and Jessie Sterloff, her brother Bill Sparkes, her son in law Robert Williams, her grandson Arthur and her granddaughter Roberta.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 25th from 12:30 followed by a Celebration of Maud's life at 2:00 pm in the Wallace Community Chapel.
