It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Eunice passed away peacefully at the An Cala Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011.
Born in New Waterford, Eunice was the daughter of the late Colin and Margaret Graham of New Waterford.
She was a member of the Parish Church of St. Leonard, a lifetime member of the St. Anne's Society, and a member of the CWL. Eunice devoted many hours to volunteering with church fairs. She also devoted her life to the care of others, both family and friends. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed line dancing and her exercise class with her lifelong friends.
Eunice is survived by her three children, Graham (Mary), Kenny, Mary Lou (Greg), all of Sydney; grandchildren, Tyler, Linda Ann, Matthew, Alexander, Johnathan, Amanda and Michelle; one great-grandchild, Matthieu. She is also survived by one brother, Frank Graham, New Waterford; sisters, Pearl Micholsky, New Waterford, Ronnie Brinkley, Madison, Mississippi, Rita (Emo) Pacenti, Raleigh, North Carolina; many nieces and nephews.
Eunice was predeceased by her husband, Alex in 1996 after 54 years of marriage. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Mary Catherine Mercier, brothers, John, Martin and Pius.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Jan. 25 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral mass of celebration for Eunice will take place Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard, Mount Carmel Avenue, with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Carmel Center.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.

The Knights of Columbus will assemble at the funeral home Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. for a prayer service.
Though her smile is gone forever
And her hand we cannot touch.
Still we have so many memories
Of the one we loved so much.
Her memory is our keepsake,
With which we'll never part;
God has her in his keeping,
We have her in our heart.
Always loved and never forgotten.
