Passed peacefully away on Jan. 22, 2011 in the presence of his loving family, Robert Mercer of Whitbourne. Longtime former employee of CNR and 1998 retiree from Dept. of Public Works. Predeceased by grandson Jason Mercer; parents John and Hannah; parents-in-law Mary Ellen and Alexander Vaters; sister Viola; brothers Edward, Clarence, and Fred; sisters-in-law Mary, Gertie, Madonna and Nellie, brothers-in-law Fred, Cyril and Mark. Leaving to mourn and ever fondly remember devoted and loving wife Elsie; daughters Debbie (Art), Ivey (Oral), Lisa (Tom); sons Eugene (Sherry), Ross (Carolyn), Rodney (Pauline). Loving Grandchildren Nicole (Chad), Chris (Jessica), Walter, Gregory (Stephanie), Tyler, Alexander, Nicholas and Gina-May. Great-grandchildren Liam, Benjamin and Isabella. Special brother Rudy (Josephine) and brother-in-law Gerald (Ivy). Special friends Bill and Mary Barron. Brothers; Reg, Willie. Sisters, Laura, Jean, Stella, Gloria. Also a large circle of family and friends. Bob will be resting at Holloway's Funeral Home, Whitbourne, Sunday 2:00 to 9:30, Monday 12:00 to 9:30. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday January 25 at 1:00 pm from Trinity United Church, Blaketown. Interment to follow at the United Church Cemetery, Whitbourne.
