October 22, 1916 - July 5, 2009 — Passed peacefully away at Woodford’s Comfort Manor, Holyrood. Predeceased by her husband John, 1988; her parents, John and Mary Long, sisters Anne Power and Theresa Baker; brothers Bill and Nick Long. Leaving to mourn her sister, Susan Furlotte, Stoney Creek, Ont.; her nephews Pat Baker (Grainne), Ray Baker (Sheila), John Baker (Bernice), Jerome Baker (Maxine), Martin Baker (Wanda), Joe Baker (Dot), Gerard Baker (Edwina), Bill Baker (Mary Anne), Dominic Power; her nieces Catherine Walsh (John), Anne Marie Baker, Donna Mary Walsh, Mary Lynn Paonessa (Joe), Susanna Baker, Nancy Vardy (Mario) and their families; sister-in-law Betty Dalton, Conception Harbour; brother-in-law Joe Walsh, Colliers. She will be sadly missed by her neighbours who befriended and cared for her for 40 years, Ed and Bernice Dalton and their children Karl, Charlene and Edward. As well, feeling the loss are her faithful friends: Mary Connors, Beth Walsh and Helen Lewis, all of Conception Harbour and the staff at Woodford’s Comfort Manor who gave her such compassionate and excellent care. Resting at Dunphy’s Funeral Home, Holyrood. Visitation on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 from 2 - 9 p.m. Funeral will take place with Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at 11 a.m. from Saint Anne’s Church, Conception Harbour . Interment will be at Saint Anne’s Cemetery, Conception Harbour. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Anne’s Cemetery Fund.
