FISHER, Earle Gordon - 58, Enfield, passed away suddenly Thursday, July 2, 2009, in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII, as a result of lung complications. Born June 17, 1951 in Truro, he was the son of the late Gordon and Mary (Conrad) Fisher. Earle attended Central Colchester High School, Onslow, CEC and Vocational School in Truro, from where he graduated with a certificate in carpentry. He worked for H&H Burner Service, Bedford for 20 years and most recently with Jollymore Construction. His passion for carpentry shone through with every piece of furniture he made. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and took great pride in his yard and flower gardens. He also enjoyed a good game of 45s and Kanasta. Earle is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Beverley "Bev" (Bowering); step-daughter, Tracy (Mike) Robar, Halifax; step-son, Paul Diamond, Pond Inlet, Nunavit; grandson, Devin Robar; sister, Pat (Bob) Hingley, Truro; mother and father-in-law, Reg and Mildred Bowering; sisters-in-law, Ruth (Don) Nickerson, Darlene (Ple) Hoddinott; brothers-in-law, Darrell (Janet) Bowering, all of St. John's, Newfoundland; David (Sheila) Bowering, Michigan, USA; several nieces and nephews in Truro and Newfoundland. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by twin sister and brother, Marie and Murray, in infancy. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where the funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 7, 2009, Reverend Larry Harrison officiating. Reception will follow. Interment in Robie Street Cemetery. Family flowers only. If so desired, donations in Earle's memory to Canadian Cancer Society are welcomed.
