On January 25, 2011, Mr. Jack W. Walch passed away peacefully at Royal Inland Hospital at the age of 78 years.
He is survived by his daughter Sharon Walch of Kamloops; his brother Jim (Donna) Walch and four nephews Dale (Barb), Wayne (Sheryl), Brett (Tammy) and Lee (Caroline); seven grand nieces and nephews, three great grand nieces and nephews and many cousins.
Jack was predeceased by his loving wife Jo in 1995 and dad Sam Walch in 1972 and his mother Vera Walch in 1975.
Jack was born in Lucky Lake, Saskatchewan. With his family he moved to B.C. in 1941. He started working on the reconstruction of the Fraser Canyon and the Cariboo Highway in the early 1950's. He met and married his wife Jo in 1954 and became an instant Dad to Sharon who was 5 years of age. His work took him to Ocean Falls, Clinton and finally to Kamloops in 1967. Jack worked with Interior Diesel and then opened his own shop which he operated until his retirement. He enjoyed his coffee breaks at North Hills Mall twice a day with his buddies. He enjoyed his hunting, fishing and travelling on land.
We would like to thank the staff and doctors who were excellent to Jack these past six weeks, also his family doctor Ben Anders.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, January 28, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillside Cemetery with Reverend George Feenstra officiating.
