It is with great sadness that the family of the Late George Parsons announce his passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville, NL on Sunday, July 5, 2009 at the age of 83 years. He leaves to mourn with many precious memories his loving and devoted wife Matilda; son Allan (Mary); grandchildren: Loveon (Rebecca), Preston, Lorenda ; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother Arnold in Halifax; uncle Max (Clara) Fillatre; homecare worker Stasia Lee; close friend Rose Young as well as other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Ernest Parsons in 1972 and Alice Parsons in 1976; sister Evelyn Parsons. George served overseas during World War II with the Merchant Marines. Visitation will take place on Monday from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing. The Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from All Saints Anglican Church, Stephenville Crossing with interment to follow in the Anglican Cemetery, Stephenville Crossing.
