Passed peacefully away at the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home in Carbonear on Tuesday, January 25, 2011, Hayward Coates of Winterton, aged 87 years. Long time member of SUF #2 Winterton, Royal Canadian Legion Branch #6, Carbonear. Predeceased by his wife Evelyn (Rowe), August 15, 2009, parents: Norman and Elizabeth, brothers: Maxwell, Oliver, and Charles. Leaving to mourn his children: Elizabeth (Garry) Pike, Roger (Gertie), Paul (Darlene), and Kelly (Barry) Green; nine grandchildren: Crystal (Brad), Danny (Renee), Deanne (Paddy), Sarah, Suzanne, Riley, Alyssa, Darien, and Tyson; one great-grandchild Owen. Also lovingly remembered by sisters-in-law: Grace Coates, and Lydia Coates and brother-in-law Tom (Hilda) Rowe. Also leaving to mourn a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Green's Funeral Home, Winterton. Visiting hours will be Wednesday 7:00-9:00 p.m., Thursday 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m., and Friday 10:00 a.m.-12:00 noon. Funeral service to take place on Friday at 2:00 p.m. from St. Luke's Anglican Church, Winterton. Internment to follow in St. Luke's Anglican Cemetery, Winterton.
