Kathleen Helen "Kaye" MacKay
MacKay, Kathleen Helen "Kaye" - 81, Brookfield and formerly of Eastville, passed away, on January 25, 2011, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro.
Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late George and Nell (McLean) Trenholm.
Kaye was actively involved in many community projects, including the Stewiacke Valley Historical Society, Eastville Community Club, Stewiacke Valley Red Cross and a member of Springside United Church. She was a local correspondent for the Truro Weekly Record. She adapted very well to the country life coming from town. Her out-going attitude got her through many adventures as a rural wife.
A loving mother and grandmother, she will be sadly missed by children, Edward (Darlene), Dawn MacKay (Charlie Roberts), both of Truro; Sandra (Barry) Fudge, Brookfield; grandchildren, Glen, Greg, Krista, Kimberley, Justin, Brandon, Brittany, Laura and Ashley; sisters-in-law, Helen MacKay, Truro; Rosemary Baas, Masstown; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by husband Muir; brothers, Alan and Donald; sister, Claire.
Visitation will be Thursday, 6-8 p.m., and funeral service Friday, at 2 p.m., both in Springside United Church, Rev. Larry Harrison officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Eastville Cemetery.
The family will meet friends for a reception in the church hall following the service.
Memorial donations may be made to Springside United Church or Stewiacke Valley Historical Society.
