Dorothy Geikie

1920 - 2011 -Miramichi - Dorothy Esther Geikie, widow of the late Roy B. Geikie, of the Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home, and formerly of Gilliss Lane, Miramichi, passed away at her residence, on Saturday, January 29, 2011, at the age of 90. Born in Ferry Road, on February 4, 1920, she was the daughter of the late John R. and Elizabeth (Creamer) Giggie. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel United Church, Miramichi; a life member and Past President of the U.C.W. She is survived by two daughters, Aileen Curtis, of Derby and Dorothy Morgan, of Miramichi; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; two sisters in law, Jenevieve Allison and Edith Geikie; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Roy, in 2001; one son, Byron Geikie and his wife Eleanor; one son in law, Allison Curtis; two half sisters, Rose Druet and Mona McCosh; one brother, John Giggie.
Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, on Tuesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from Bethel United Church, on Wednesday, February 2, 2011, at 3 pm, conducted by Rev. J.D. Kennedy. Interment will be in Moorefield Cemetery, later in the spring. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Bethel United Church, or any charity of the donors' choice, would be appreciated by the family.
