Clairmont, Lawrence Cyril - age 96 of Tidal View Manor Yarmouth and formerly of Hebron, Yarmouth County passed away peacefully January 21, 2011 in the company of family at the Manor. Born July 11, 1914 he was the son of the late Annie (Muise Saulnier) and Cyril Clairmont of Pinkney's Point. In his younger years Lawrence worked as a fisherman and mechanic before he enlisted in the Army. Lawrence was a Veteran of the Second World War where he proudly served his country. In the Army he was ranked as a Private and his trade was a coppersmith. He served overseas in France, Germany, Belgium, Holland, and Italy. When he returned from the War Lawrence worked as a mechanic until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, gardening and playing cards. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion -Branch 61, Yarmouth and a member of Saint Ambrose Cathedral Church. Lawrence leaves behind children Russell (Elaine), Loring (Alice), Janice (Bill). Grand children DonnaLee (Peter), Valerie, Chuck (Nadine), Gina, Laurianne (David), Barbie (Mike), Yvette (Dason), Douglas (Lisa), Sheryl (Josh). Great-grandchildren Ashley, Blair, Suzanne, Katie, Russell, Ryan, Colin, Danielle, Garrett, Alyssa, Colton. Great-great-grandchildren, Ella, Bree. and special Niece Sarah. Lawrence is predeceased by his first wife Georgina and daughter Leona and second wife Leta and daughter Sheila, granddaughter Doralene, great-granddaughter Courtney. Brothers, Alfie, John, Dennis Saulnier, Mark Clairmont. Sisters Lena, Florence, Mary, Evelyn, and Delima. The body rested at Sweeny's Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Yarmouth. Visiting hours were Sunday, January 23, 2011 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm with a Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 61, Yarmouth service at 7:30pm followed by prayers at 8:00 pm all in Sweeny's Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral mass was held Monday, January 24, 2011 at 2:00 pm from Saint Ambrose Cathedral Church, Monsignor Gerald LeBlanc officiated. Burial took place in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery.
