Katherine Mary Greaves, 84, passed away quietly at Harbourstone Enhanced Care, Sydney, on Monday, Jan. 31, 2011.
Employed at the Bank of Montreal, Charlotte Street, for many years, Kaye was well-known in the local golf, badminton and bowling circles. She frequently enjoyed travelling with her friends, as well as playing tarabish. An active member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, Kaye was a dedicated elder and member of the Friendship Guild and the Tuesday Morning Ladies Bible Study. In her younger years, being a member of the Army Reserves was very important to her.
Predeceased by parents, Charles and Wilhemena (Malcolm) Greaves; infant sister, Alice; brother and sister-in-law, Cecil and Christine (MacAulay) Greaves.
Kaye is survived by her nephews, Charles (Linda) and Philip (Susan) Greaves and their families.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Bethel Presbyterian Church on Friday 2 p.m., with Rev. Robert Lyle officiating. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Presbyterian Church, the Diabetic Association or a charity of one's choice.
The family would like to thank the staff of Harbourstone for their kind and compassionate care during Kaye's stay there.
