
G. Walter Larsen
1926 - 2011 - The death of G. Walter Larsen occurred on February 1, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, peacefully, after a period of failing health. He was born on November 22, 1926 in Irvington, New Jersey to the late Olaf Rittenhaus Larsen and Eleanor (Hornish) Larsen. He was predeceased in 2008 by his wife of 61 years, Shirley (Perry) Larsen and in June 2010 by his younger son John Edward Larsen (1953-2010). Walter is survived by his son George Walter Larsen of Baxter's Corner, NB, granddaughter Eleanor (Larsen) Houston of Florida (Clayton), and two great-granddaughters, Kirsten and Lily. After running his own successful construction business in New Jersey until 1972, Walter and Shirley lived on their homestead "ranch" at Baxter's Corner for almost 40 years, where he also tried his hand at farming. The Ranch was a hub of social activity for many years. Walter was noted as a fine craftsman in woodworking and construction for many years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
There will be a small gathering of family and friends to celebrate his life at a later date.
