Age 74 years. Passed peacefully away surrounded by his wife and family on January 30, 2011, after a long struggle with prostate cancer. Predeceased by his parents William and Aletha and brother Angus. Survived by his wife of 50 years, Charity Rose; sons: Tom (Beth), Kerry (Nancy); daughter Sandra (Chris) and his five precious grandchildren: Jane and Simon Pope (mother Jill), Hannah and Emma Pope and Miriam Stevenson. Also survived by brother Roy (Barbara); sisters: Amy White, Ada Pitcher (Bert), Emily Bungay (Charles); the Rose family and a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held Thursday, February 3, 2011, from St. Thomas' Anglican Church at 11 a.m., with interment to follow in the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road.
