HANSLIEN, C. Virginia
Virginia went to be with her Lord peacefully, with family by her side, on Tuesday, July 7th, 2009. Virginia was predeceased by her beloved husband, Sigvart (2000). She will be missed by her children, Philip (Patricia), Alfred (Donna), Grace (John) Popyuk, Tim (Jan), Dan (Kelli), Beth (Byron) Crabb and Evelyn (Stacy) Millions as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survived by her sisters, Ruth Smiley and June Davidson (Cliff). Predeceased by sisters Merle (George) Merta and brothers Ken and Doug Martinell. She will be missed by her many nieces, nephews and friends. Virginia was born in Edgerton, AB on September 12th, 1917, to Harry and Mabel Martinell. After settling in Glendon, AB., she met and married a fine Norwegian gentleman, Sig Hanslien. The family homesteaded until they moved to Caronport in 1946 to attend Bible College. They stayed in the Moose Jaw area and raised their seven children. Virginia loved her Lord and Saviour, and imparted her values that are present to this day. Friends and family are invited to visit on Thursday, July 9th from 7-9 p.m., at Parkview Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Friday July 10th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m., at Parkview Funeral Chapel, 474 Hochelaga St West.A special thank-you to Extendicare for their compassionate and loving care of our mother.
