Rita Fougère formerly of Chesley St., Shediac passed away on Friday, February 4, 2011 at the Villa Providence in Shediac at the age of 84 years. Born in Shediac on September 25, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Jim and Eva (Cormier) Fougère. Prior to her retirement, she was employed at Northern Electric in Montréal, QC . Rita will be sadly missed by her loving family, her son Allan Fougère O'Brien of Montréal, QC, six sisters: Elise Henriksen of Windsor, ON, Claire Garrett (Walter) of Montréal, QC, Sara Fergusson (William) of Moncton, Freda Flemming (late Jack) of Shediac, Noëlla Brydges (Wayne) of Maitland, ON, Rachel Vautour (Marcel LeBlanc) of Grand Barachois; five brothers: Léonce (Jacqueline), Emile, Gérald and Ovide (Olia) all of Shediac, Paul (Janice) of Ottawa, ON; two granddaughters: Tara and Melissa, and also by many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by two sisters: Yvonne and Elizabeth and a brother Vincent.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 396 Main St., Shediac (532-3297) on Sunday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. ONLY. Funeral mass will be held at Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Shediac on Monday, February 7, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the parish cemetery in the spring.
