It is with deepest sadness that the family of Blair MacPhee announce his peaceful passing on Feb. 5, 2011.
Born Oct. 9, 1939, in Glace Bay, Blair was a son of the late Donald John and Mary Catherine (Walsh) MacPhee.
Besides his parents, Blair was predeceased by his loving wife, Catherine and daughter, Paula (MacPhee) Thiessen.
Left to cherish his wonderful memory are his daughters, Bernadette (Simon) Barrett, Hinton, Alta., Susan (Dale) McPherson, Calgary, Alta.; and son, Donald (Kristen) MacPhee, Sherwood Park, Alta. Blair was also blessed with three beautiful grandchildren, Bailey, Breton and Raegan, whom he loved dearly. Blair was visiting his children and grandchildren at Christmastime when he fell ill. He also leaves behind many family and friends who will miss him.
Blair had an extensive career in the construction industry and his legacy will live on in the many building projects that he supervised throughout the Cape Breton area over a 40+ year span including several hospitals and schools that have bettered the lives of many generations.
In honouring Blair's wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Curry's Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay.
