The family of the late Charlie Renouf would like to extend a very special thank you to everyone who expressed condolences and provided support on the sad occasion of Charlie's passing.

To our family especially Charlie's sister Helen, niece Helen and his closest life long friends (Kev, Pearce, Ed, Seamus, Mike and families) who were present during his illness thank you for your unwavering support and for simply being there when most needed.

Thank you to Mayor Neville Greeley for his heartfelt concern and daily visits with Charlie during his illness and his kind words saluting Charlie after his passing.

Thank you to Dr. O'Driscoll, Dr. Tavenor and nurses of the ICU, units 3B, 4A and 4B. The care, professionalism and compassion demonstrated by each of you was exemplary and will never be forgotten.

Thank you to Laura, Glen and staff of Fillatre's Funeral Home for their guidance and support during this difficult time.

Thank you to Father Hynes, Eucharistic Ministers, readers, servers, choir and soloists for a beautiful funeral mass celebrating Charlie's life. As well, a special thank you to Seamus Gibbons for organizing the pallbearers, honorary pallbearers and ushers. We know Charlie was proud to have each of you there.

Thank you to family, friends, colleagues and representatives from other municipalities who travelled from out of town to attend the funeral mass. Thank you also to the staff at City Hall, Fire Department and the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary for your kind display of respect during the funeral procession.

Thank you to all those who sent flowers and made donations to the SPCA and the Westmount Club High School Scholarship Fund in Charlie's memory. Your thoughtfulness is very much appreciated.

We would like to extend a very special thank you to the Westmount Club for organizing and hosting the post-funeral reception especially Mike Anderson and all the musicians who performed throughout that special afternoon.

A special thank you also to the large number of people who called, sent sympathy cards, mass cards and provided food.

To everyone your expressions of kindness and compassion will continue to help us deal with Charlie's passing and appreciate how much he was loved and respected.
