Harold Layden of Goshen passed away on February 7, 2011 at the age of 91. He was the son of the late Jeremiah and Loretta (Purtill) Layden. Survived by his wife Velma (McCormac), His children; Linda Taylor (Eric) of Forest Glen, Eileen Stapleford (Rick) of Wards Creek, David Layden (Linda) of Moncton, Teresa Layden of Hampton, Richard Layden of Goshen, Karen Layden (Barry) of Mount Pleasant and daughter in law Marlene Layden of Petitcodiac; 17 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; sisters; Doreen McNaught of Albert and Lorraine Vincent of Moncton; Several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his son Gerald, his daughter Lorraine, his daughter in law Ruth, his brothers; Walter, Leo, Gerald, James, Russel; his sisters; Kathleen Quinn, Eileen Schleistein, Veronica MacDonald and Lois McCollum.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home (506-433-1176). Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6 to 10pm at the Most Precious Blood RC Church in Goshen. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #41 Petitcodiac will hold a tribute at 5:45pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the Church on Friday, February 11, 2011 at 10:00 am. The interment will take place at The Most Precious Blood Cemetery.
