It is with great sadness that the family of the late Emily Jane Howell announce her passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, in Corner Brook, NL on Monday, February 7th, 2011 at the age of 91 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughter Edwina (Calvin Snow), Corner Brook, NL; brothers: Max (Betty) Harnum Corner Brook, NL and Harold (Myrtle) Harnum, Deer Lake, NL, sister Mrs. Annie Janes, Cox's Cove, NL, son-in-law Harvey Manuel, Deer Lake, NL, 9 grandchildren: Barry (Colleen) Manuel, NB, Dennis (Barbara) Manuel, Stephenville, NL, Wanda (Nolan) Young and Deborah (Dean) Young both of Deer Lake, NL, Cindy (Jeff) Smith, Corner Brook, NL, David (Edna) Manuel, Deer Lake, NL, Michele Snow (John Rowe), NS, Brenda (Darryl) Williams, Deer Lake, NL and Jason (Sherry) Manuel, Fort McMurray, 17 great-grandchildren: Mandi, Mellisa, Cody, Andy, Stephen, Marie, Kelly, Michael, Nicholas, Lucas, Matthew, Emily, Lynette, Courtney, Lacey, Ryan and Alicia; 3 great-great- grandchildren: Brayden, Kylie and Brett. Mother was predeceased by her husband Edward Nov 2nd, 1973, daughter Marie Manuel, March 26th,1993, granddaughters: Calla Darlene Snow, Feb 20th, 1961 and Tina Manuel, Oct. 14th, 2008, her mother and father Amelia & Arthur Harnum, her sisters: Dorothy (Roland) Peckford & Elizabeth (Nath) Peddle, and her brother-in-law Carl Janes. Also leaving to mourn a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, family and friends. The family will be receiving family and friends from Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel 63 North Main Street, today Wednesday, February 9th, 2011 from the hours of 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm. The Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, February 10th, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Tony Newell officiating, burial to follow at the United Church Cemetery on High Street, Deer Lake, NL. In lieu of flowers donations to the St. Paul's United Church Fund 17 Spruce Street, Deer Lake, NL. A8A 2C2, in Emily's memory would be graciously appreciated by the family.
