Audrey Kennedy
The death of Audrey Marion Kennedy, of Youngs Cove, NB, occurred at Gagetown Special Care Home on Monday, February 7th, 2011 at the age of 82. Born in Salmon Creek, NB on May 19, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Lillian (Dykeman) MacRae and wife of the late Ralph B. Kennedy. She arrived at Young's Cove on Grand Lake as a new bride in 1948, and it was this community that received her heart and soul. Over the years this extraordinary lady left a mark through her involvement with the Young's Cove United Church and United Church Women, the Waterborough Legion Branch # 60 and Ladies Auxiliary, the Young's Cove Women's Institute, as well as countless other organizations and events. She always had something to contribute; whether it was her quilting skills, baking skills (who hasn't exclaimed about her baked beans), or just knowing that you could count on Audrey to be there. She never expected anything in return, she was just happy to be able to help. As well as her community involvement, she raised three children, helped take care of the family farm, and always had time for her grandchildren. No matter what was happening in her life, she always made you feel like you were the only one that was important at that moment. Audrey is survived by her son, Joe (Carol) of Lincoln; two daughters, Susan Kennedy-MacMullin (Dale) of Fredericton and Carolyn Pellerin (Donald) of Rothesay; eight grandchildren, Tony (Erica), Jason (Sarah), Sarah, Jillian (Darell), Kelly (Shawn), Phillip, Jennifer (Eric) and Jessica; three great-grandchildren, Grace, Michael and Ryan; her sisters, Edith Fulton-Yoemans (Dick) and Geraldine Boyne both of Fredericton, as well her brother, Rowan McRae (Florence) of Chipman.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Ralph; sister, Irma and brothers, Edgar and Donald.
Visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago St. (357-5100) on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 2 pm with Rev. Jane Johnson officiating. A community interment service will take place at the Youngs Cove United Church at a later date.
