The death of Mr. John Nicholas "Nick" Dolan, husband of the late Marlene (Copp) Dolan, occurred on Tuesday, Feburary 8, 2011 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 75. Born in Nelson, NB, he was the son of the late Wilfred Dolan and Winifred "Winnie" Driscoll and step-son of the late Ray Driscoll. Nick was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, manager of Men's Wear at Creaghan's Department Store for several years as well as working security at Ritchie Wharf. Nick is survived by: one daughter: Lynne Dolan Lynch (Blaine) of Nelson, NB; sons: Tony of Pictou, NS; Terry (Lana) of Riverview, NB; sisters: Margaret Blackmore (Sterling); Mary Agnes Stewart (Carmen) all of Nordin, NB; Anne Gray (Bill) of Miramichi, NB; step-sisters: Kay Taylor (late Joe) of Saint John, NB; Agnes Siscoe (Bob) of Tracy, PQ; Eileen Rouse (Bill) of Thorold, ON; brother: Blair (Eliette) of Upper Coverdale, NB; step-brother: Greg Driscoll (Rita) of Welland, ON; four grandchildren: Tanner and Kiara (Kia) Lynch and Alexandria (Ali) and Liam Dolan and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, he is predeceased by: step-brothers: Pat, Carl and Charlie Driscoll and step-sisters: Annie Esson and Frances Beaupre.
The family will receive visitors at Bell's Funeral Home on Wednesday from 7 to 9 PM and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Newcastle on Friday, February 11, 2011 at 11 AM with Father Tom Fowler officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery later in the spring. In Nick's memory, donations may be made to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or to a memorial of one's choice.
