BJORE - Raymond Edward Bjore 82 years of Vanguard, SK, passed away June 26, 2009, at Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, SK. The funeral service was held at 1:30 pm, June 30, 2009, at Aneroid Community Hall with Pastors Ernest Zander and Sue Fleming officiating. The organist was Mrs Dorothy Saunderson; soloist was his nephew David Collins. The eulogist was nephew John Bjore. Ushers were Mark Heebner and Jason Barley. The pallbearers were his grandsons, Chris Hapke, Conor Crawford, Eric Lawson, Travis Lawson, Austin Donald and Carter Donald. Honorary pallbearers were all of Raymond's friends and neighbours. Raymond is survived by his wife, Agnes Jenkins Hapke; brother, Arnold (Betty) Bjore; Agnes's children, Albert (Deb) Hapke; daughters, Denise (Jim) Lawson, Mindy Hapke, Judy(Darrell) Crawford-Apperley and Carmen (Greg) Donald; grandchildren, Natasha, Angela Carlina Kendra and Chris Hapke, Travis, Eric and Kyla Lawson, Katelyn and Conor Crawford, Austin and Carter Donald; great grandchild, Savanna; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Adolph and Fanny Bjore; brother, Lewis; and sisters, Alma McConnville and Alice Collins; sisters-in-law, Gertrude Bjore and Eileen Jenkins; and brothers-in-law, Micky Collins, Jim King, Robert McBride and Noel Jenkins. Raymond was born on the family farm southwest of Aneroid. He attended school at Quimper District. He married Agnes Jenkins Hapke on April 15, 1995, at Trinity Lutheran St. Bowell, SK. Raymond farmed with his mother and brother Arnold until his retirement in 2003, but always remained interested in the farming operation until 2008. He was involved with Saskatchewan Wheat Pool, curling and a devoted member of the Aneroid 50 plus Club of which he held the roll of chairman of the board for many years. He was also involved in the building and maintenance of the club, the Community Hall and the curling rink. He enjoyed sports, hunting, fishing and flying his own plane. He built his radio controlled glider and enjoyed many hours with it. He was a machinist and welder, and was the neighbourhood handyman. Raymond always had a talent for fixing no matter how impossible the task seemed, he had a great ability to design and manufacture the replacement parts. Raymond was a very kind and thoughtful man to his wife of 14 years and all of her family particularly the grandchildren, who were the light of his life. He loved to attend their graduations and particularly their sports were he cheered them on with great enthusiasm. He was very proud of their accomplishments. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Diabetes Foundation in Raymond Bjore's name.
