Edmond Boudreau
On Thursday, January 6th, family, relatives and friends gathered at St. Leonard’s Parish to bid a final farewell to Edmond Boudreau, with Father Ray Huntley. Many thanks go out to family, neighbours and friends for not only the support and love shown at this time, but for a seemingly endless flow of food, beautiful flower arrangements, sympathy cards and masses, telephone calls, online condolences, as well as monetary donations. Dad was cherished by family, but will be missed also by many friends made throughout his journey of life. His friendly smile and laughter will be forever etched in our hearts. Deeply honoured as pallbearers were sons Brian, Wayne and Eric, as well as special nephews Cyril, Bernie and Gerard Boudreau. Special thanks to Carpenter’s Union Local 1588 for forming an honour guard in his memory. Thanks to the choir for providing lovely songs that Dad would have proudly sang along with, particularly the French selection. Heartfelt thanks for songs by Richard Burke and Amy Baker. Readings provided by grandson Matthew McNeil and friend Donna Roach. Granddaughters Rachelle Lynn and Rebecca Lynn presented gifts to the altar. Thanks St. Leonard Parish for providing a beautiful lunch. Very special thanks to Father Huntley for the beautiful words spoken of Dad, and for caring and compassion shown to Mom. Thanks to nurses with VON who made daily visits to Dad (Karen Wilson, Kelly Farrell). Debbie Tighe and Laura Lee MacDonald, thanks for providing Dad with the many opportunities of laughter. Laura, you were the angel that appeared when we were most in need of one on that last day. Special thanks to Beth Lathem, RN, with Palliative Care. Dad loved to see you. You made it possible to have him home with us to the very end. Heartfelt thanks to McGillivray Funeral home, for your kindness, warmth and professionalism. To anyone who helped ease our burden in any way, bless you. We will always find a reason to smile when we think of him. Remembering, not that he is gone from us, but that we were blessed to have had him in our lives for so many years.
