SPENCER, Beulah Iona – 79, The Mira Long Term Care Centre, formerly of Portapique, passed away peacefully, with her loving family at her side, Thursday morning, February 10, 2011, at the home. Born April 8, 1931 in Spencer’s Island, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Edna (Spicer) McLellan. Beulah was a life-time member of Bass River Baptist Church. She worked for many families, helping with housework, loved to walk and enjoyed knitting sweaters for herself and her grandchildren. She was a true family woman who loved and cherished her family. Beulah is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Willard Fletcher Spencer, Portapique; daughter, Rose (Leon) Moore, Truro; son, Aubrey (Helen) Spencer, Fernie, British Columbia; grandchildren, Tammy Moore, Tracy (Moore) Campbell, all of Truro; Amanda Spencer and Charles (Crystal) Spencer, British Columbia; great grandchildren, Jordan, Sheridan, Sarah, Damien, Ashlyn, Shayden, Rylen; brother, Lyndon (Annette) McLellan, Bass River; nieces, Kayla and Rachel McLellan. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Beulah’s family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m., Friday, February 11, 2011, and where the funeral service will be held 4 p.m., Saturday, February 12, 2011, Reverend George Irving Luke, II officiating. Spring interment in Mahon Cemetery, Great Village. If so desired, donations in Beulah’s memory to IWK (Cystic Fibrosis Clinic) or Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia are welcomed.
