Helen Ramsay

1914 – 2011 - Helen Catherine Ramsay of Moncton, NB passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at K. E. Spencer Memorial Home. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late James and Jessie (MacKenzie) Blackwood. She was a member of St. John’s United Church and of the United Church Women. Also a former member of the Beaver Curling Club and a Past President of the Moncton Kinette Club. She is survived by one son, David and his wife Pauline of Sudbury ON, one daughter Carolyn and her husband Darrell Colpitts of Petitcodiac, NB and three grandchildren Callie Park (Tony) of Ontario, Craig Colpitts (Alison) of Petitcodiac and Lori Gallant (Carson) of Watson SK. She will also be sadly missed by her five great grandchildren; Oliver, Myles, Reid, Emily and Aiden. Besides her parents, Helen was predeceased by her husband, J. Archie Ramsay in 1993 as well as two sisters, Ruth Sweeny and Marjorie Alexander. Helen was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family. In respect with Helen’s wishes, cremation will be followed by a private memorial service at Fair Haven Funeral Home Chapel. Interment in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations in Helen's memory may be made to St. John’s United Church, Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation or the charity of the donor’s choice.
